Evaluate a creator quote

$

Include creator, usage rights, agency, and other fixed campaign costs. Do not count costs already deducted in your margin twice.

Your assumption, not guaranteed delivery. Views are not unique people or ad impressions.

$

Average sales revenue per order, after discounts and excluding sales tax.

%

0–100%. Revenue left after product, fulfillment, payment, and other variable order costs, before this campaign cost.

%

0–100%. Share of views that produce an order; 0.1% means one order per 1,000 views. This is not a click-to-purchase rate.

Expected contribution after campaign cost
$2,000.00

Expected revenue × contribution margin − total campaign cost. A negative figure is a shortfall, before fixed overhead and tax.

Cost per 1,000 views (view-based CPM)
$20.00

Total campaign cost ÷ expected views × 1,000. A dash means there are no views to price; this is not an impression-based CPM.

Expected orders
100.00

Expected views × assumed view-to-purchase conversion. Fractions are model averages, not completed orders.

Expected sales revenue
$10,000.00

Expected orders × average order value, before costs.

Maximum campaign cost at break even
$4,000.00

The contribution available to cover the whole campaign at your assumed result. This is a budget ceiling, not a market-rate estimate.

Break-even orders, rounded up
50

Whole orders needed to cover the campaign. A dash means each order leaves no contribution to recover a positive campaign cost.

Break-even view-to-purchase conversion
0.0500%

Rounded-up break-even orders ÷ expected views × 100, displayed rounded up to four decimal places. Above 100% cannot break even under this model; no views means no defined rate.

Contribution at 50% of expected views
$0.00

Lower-view scenario after campaign cost. Conversion, order value, margin, and campaign cost stay the same.

Contribution at 150% of expected views
$4,000.00

Higher-view scenario after campaign cost. These scenarios are sensitivity checks, not forecasts or confidence intervals.

What is an influencer rate calculator for buyers?

An influencer rate calculator for buyers tests a quote against the economics of your business. It turns an all-in campaign cost and your own assumptions into expected orders, revenue, contribution, and a break-even sales target. Conversion and margin are entered as percentages and divided by 100 in the formula.

The starting example uses a $2,000 campaign, 100,000 views, a $100 average order, a 40% contribution margin, and 0.1% view-to-purchase conversion. That produces 100 expected orders, $10,000 in revenue, and $2,000 in contribution after the campaign cost. The view-based CPM is $20. At $40 contribution per order, 50 orders break even: 0.05% of 100,000 views.

At 50,000 views the same example breaks even; at 150,000 views it leaves $4,000 after the campaign cost. Only views change in those scenarios. The prefilled values are an arithmetic example, not typical creator performance or a recommended rate.

Views can include repeat viewers. This calculator does not predict reach, attribute sales, estimate lifetime value, or measure brand awareness. Contribution after campaign cost is not company net profit: fixed overhead, tax, and any costs you omitted still need to be covered.

How to evaluate an influencer quote

Use one campaign scope, one reporting window, and assumptions you can explain to the person approving the budget.

  1. 01

    Enter the complete campaign cost

Add the creator fee, usage rights, agency fees, and other fixed campaign costs. Keep variable order costs in the contribution margin so nothing is counted twice.

  2. 02

Set your view and sales assumptions

Use comparable sponsored posts to inform expected views. Enter a view-to-purchase conversion assumption separately; an engagement rate or a store's visitor conversion rate is not the same thing.

  3. 03

    Check the break-even requirement

Compare the rounded-up order target with your sales history. Review the maximum campaign cost and the 50% view scenario before deciding what you can afford.

  4. 04

    Review audience and contract fit

Use the numbers alongside creator audience fit, deliverables, usage rights, and measurement terms. A quote that clears a spreadsheet still needs a credible audience and a workable brief.

Why use an influencer rate calculator?

For brands, agencies, founders, and marketing teams deciding how much a proposed collaboration can support.

  • Review a creator proposal

Translate a flat quote into view-based CPM and a concrete sales hurdle before committing budget.

  • Set a negotiation budget

See the total campaign cost your assumptions can cover. Reserve room for your desired contribution and any additional costs.

  • Compare campaign scopes

Run each proposal with consistent assumptions, including the cost of rights and production. Compare like-for-like deliverables and view definitions.

  • Explain the downside

Show how contribution changes if views reach only half the base assumption. Adjust conversion separately when audience buying intent is uncertain.

Influencer rate calculator FAQs

Does this calculator tell me an influencer's market rate?

No. It evaluates what your business could afford under your assumptions. Creator pricing also depends on deliverables, audience fit, usage rights, exclusivity, production, and demand. No follower-based rate benchmark is used here.

How is the CPM calculated?

Total campaign cost divided by expected views, multiplied by 1,000. A $2,000 campaign with 100,000 expected views has a $20 view-based CPM. Views are not ad impressions or unique people, so compare it only with quotes using the same view definition and time window.

What conversion rate should I enter?

Use the share of content views you assume will produce orders. For example, 0.1% means one order per 1,000 views. A website conversion rate usually counts visitors, not views; do not paste it in without accounting for the step from viewing to visiting. The default is an example, not a performance benchmark.

Should I use gross margin or contribution margin?

Use contribution margin after product and other variable order costs, such as fulfillment and payment fees. If your gross margin deducts only product cost, first deduct the remaining variable costs. Enter campaign fees in total campaign cost, not in both places. Fixed overhead and tax are outside the result.

Why are break-even orders rounded up?

You cannot complete part of an order. Divide total campaign cost by contribution per order, then round up to the next whole order. The break-even conversion uses that same rounded order target, so both figures describe the same requirement.

What do zero values or a dash mean?

With no views, the model produces zero orders and cannot define a view-based CPM or conversion hurdle. If order value or margin is zero, there is no order contribution to recover a positive campaign cost, so break-even orders show a dash. A zero campaign cost needs zero orders to cover it. Empty, negative, non-finite, or percentage inputs above 100% leave all results blank until corrected.

Are the lower and higher scenarios forecasts?

No. They use 50% and 150% of your expected views while holding conversion, order value, margin, and total campaign cost constant. They show sensitivity to one assumption. Real conversion and costs can change too, so edit those inputs to test additional cases.

Is it free, and do I need to connect an account?

The calculator is free and runs directly on this page. No account, social login, or connector is needed for the calculation. It does not fetch a creator's metrics or send your entries to an analysis service.

Okou also has the influencer profile audit, the CPM calculator and the ROAS calculator.
